My future plan includes playing lead guitar for a band and starting my own guitar classes. The road to learning is never ending and I am still in the process of learning the guitar even after 3 years of starting it. I will strive to be a perfectionist in playing guitar in a few years down the road. I plan to conduct classes on the weekends and if possible, opening up a guitar shop.

Future plans
My future plan includes playing lead guitar for a band and starting my own guitar classes. The road to learning is never ending and I am still in the process of learning the guitar even after 3 years of starting it. I will strive to be a perfectionist in playing guitar in a few years down the road. I plan to conduct classes on the weekends and if possible, opening up a guitar shop.
Jamming to Songs
Four months after
joining the class, I bought my own guitar (acoustic guitar). Learning a stringed instrument like
guitar is a long process and even after three years, I am still in the learning
process. Even today, I still attend my classes twice a week and can now play a
lot of Bollywood and Hollywood tunes/songs on the guitar. I practice almost
every day, even during exams or if I am busy, I make sure that I manage time to
practice it.
There are two ways to play a song on guitar - through guitar lead/ tab or using the chords. Some songs are easy to play and learn (like give me some sunshine - 3 Idiots or kal ho na ho title track) while some are very difficult and needs lot of practice. I currently own an acoustic
guitar and plan to buy an electric guitar in the future. Electric guitars are costly as compared to the acoustic ones and requires an amplifier.
Difficult Beginning
I joined a class and
the class was twice a week and one hour per day.It took a lot of time to convince my parents to join the class as they thought I would give up after a couple of months (I had done the same during my judo classes). Initially I borrowed a guitar from a friend as my
parents were skeptical whether I will continue or give up.
To play a stringed instrument is never easy and I found the same with the guitar. Initially I found it very difficult. I must admit to learn guitar you need a lot of practice. In my class, I found so many students joining and leaving the class in a couple of months as they couldn’t cope up with it. The first 3-4 months are very crucial where you get a clear picture whether you can succeed in playing the instrument or not and I successfully managed to pass that stage.

The start
Nilesh Karandikar
PG-B Div:83
Over all these years, I have been passionate about music. I have learned musical instruments like tabla and keyboard but the instrument which I have been learning about since last 3 years and am very passionate about is the Guitar.
I wanted to learn the guitar from a long time but lack of time prevented me from doing it so. So finally after completing my final exam of engineering (semester 8), I decided to join guitar class. And from that's where the journey to my passion started.
